A pair of Harvey Gulf International offshore support vessels received an ABS SUSTAIN 1 rating recognizing how their design and operation is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

To earn the rating, the Harvey Blue-Sea and Harvey submarine The vessels were among 12 vessels in the Harvey Gulf Fleet assessed by ABS for their performance against six of the UNSDG criteria. The remaining 10 vessels are also taken into account for Sustain ratings.

ABS Sustain ratings demonstrate compliance with certain UNSDGs related to the design, layout and fitting of ships which can be monitored, measured and rated. They set a path for sustainability certification and reporting.

“The ratings recognize the commitment of forward-looking operators to supporting UNSDGs and maintaining a sustainable fleet. It reflects the operators’ commitment to a holistic approach as opposed to a gradual approach towards sustainability. I am delighted that we are able to support Harvey Gulf on his sustainability journey and help him demonstrate to the industry his environmentally responsible approach, ”said Georgios Plevrakis, ABS Director, Sustainability global.

“I am delighted to partner again with ABS to be the first offshore vessel operator in America to achieve a Class 1 durability rating for Harvey Gulf’s two 250 metric ton MPSVs and to work closely together with ABS to achieve durability. Class 2 for our tri-fuel PSV fleet, which no company in our sector will be able to reach. When Harvey invested $ 400 million in our dual-fuel PSVs and then began the process of converting all to tri-fuel, I had no idea how important environmental, social and governance sustainability was to it. ‘vessel operations in the oil and gas service industry. Well, it’s crystal clear. It’s here to stay. And he’s here to grow in a big way. I have paved the way for Harvey Gulf to be the leader and I will continue to do so through this great partnership we have with ABS, ”said Shane Guidry Harvey Gulf, President and CEO.
