Arthur Conan Returns With One Chip To Win $ 50,000 Buy-In Super High Roller Poker Tournament

With four players remaining in 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $ 50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em super high roller, Frenchman Arthur Conan ran a multi-street bluff with a straight draw that never got better. On the river, he fired one last barrel, betting 265,000 of his 290,000 with nine high. His opponent, Seth Davies, called with two pair to leave Conan with a single 25,000 tournament chip in his stack. With blinds of 15,000 to 25,000, he found himself all-in straight away. He won that pot to quadruple and then doubled several times before eventually winning the tournament for $ 733,320.
It was by far the biggest live tournament score of Conan’s career, blowing the $ 83,918 he earned as the 20,000 Moroccan Dirham champion ($ 2,075 USD) buy-in event for 2019 WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Festival. He now has over $ 1.4 million in career earnings to his credit.
In addition to the title and money, Conan also received 510 Card player Player of the Year is the champion of this high stakes event. It was his first POY– qualified score of 2021.
This tournament attracted a total of 42 entries, creating a prize pool of $ 2,100,000 which was ultimately awarded among the top seven. Ilyas Muradi, who won the World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open main event which also took place at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, finished seventh for $ 81,480 and 128 POY points. With the $ 620,000 and 1,620 points he earned for knocking out that $ 3,500 buy-in large-field main event, Muradi now sits in fifth place in 2021. POY race ranking, which is sponsored by World Poker.
The last day of this event started with just six players remaining. World Series of Poker the winner of the Jeremy Ausmus bracelet was the first to fall. Ausmus got his all-in preflop short stack with Qten
and found himself dominated by the A

by Chris Brewer. Ausmus failed to come from behind and was knocked out in sixth place ($ 112,035).
Sean Winter was only left behind in a few big blinds after losing a big clash with Sam Soverel. He got the last of his chips with 54
and was called by Seth Davies’ pocket seven. The board provided no help and Winter was sent to rail with $ 142,590 for fifth place.
Conan lost a pair of big pots early in a four-handed action. He first encountered a toilet flush owned by Seth Davies. The two clashed again in the pot which left Conan in crumbs before his eventual rebirth from his phoenix-like ashes. With blinds of 15,000-25,000 and a bet of 25,000 big blind, Davies raised to 60,000 in the small blind holding Qten
. Conan called the big blind with 9

and Davie bet 90,000 with his top two pairs. Conan called and the J
rolled off the bridge around the bend. Davies pulled another 90,000 bet. Conan raised to 250,000 with his toss and Davies called. The 4
in the end prompted Davies to check it out. Conan missed, but bet 265,000 out of his 290,000 stack with only nine up. Davies thought about it before announcing a call, and Conan ended up with a single token of 25,000.
Conan quadrupled shortly thereafter, then found two doubles to pass the 500,000 mark. He continued to rebuild during the four-handed play, eventually winning a sizable pot with a right turn against Davies’ flopped top to take the head.
Davies had fallen to the bottom of the rankings. In his last hand he called all-in on an AK

With that, Conan took a roughly 8: 1 heads-up lead with bracelet winner Sam Soverel. It didn’t take long for him to convert that advantage into a title. He picked up 55
