HALIO and Viracon sign a partnership agreement to bring smart glass to architecture
HALIO, a world leader in electrochromic smart glass, has entered into a partnership agreement with architectural glass leader Viracon to combine their technologies in the face of worsening climate change.
Combining revolutionary smart glass expertise with superior single-source glass manufacturing, Viracon has officially announced its Viracon PLUS Smart Glass powered by HALIO. The new architectural glass offers unique electrochromic smart glass capabilities and sets a new standard for both glass markets.

In a Viracon press release, he announced that his new collaborative project “represents a long-awaited evolution of smart glass offerings”. With HALIO’s electrochromic smart glass technology, users can easily switch between an untinted mode for a crystal-clear view or a cooler neutral gray when tinted. The new architectural glass windows now have the power for cloud-based controls, thanks to its Internet of Things (IoT) enabled sensors, combined with a state-of-the-art skycam on the roof and a large Internet pipe. These capabilities allow rapid and incremental response to changing environmental conditions outdoors or indoors or even configure the window to present an automated response from the utility provider.

With the new Viracon PLUS Smart Glass powered by HALIO, building managers can now integrate the harmony of lighting, HVAC systems and building facade into one solution, virtually eliminating the need for interior shades and exterior shades.
