Jake daniels came from behind against Dan Shak heads-up to win the US Poker Open Event # 1: $ 10,000 No Limit Hold’em for $ 218,500 at Studio PokerGO at ARIA Resort & Casino.
It was Daniels’ second biggest live poker tournament win. According to The Hendon Crowd, Daniels racked up nearly $ 1.6 million in live tournament earnings with his biggest win over a year ago when he shipped the WPT LA Poker Classic Event # 65: $ 25,000 No Limit Hold’em – PokerGO High Roller for $ 281,390.
The event proves that live poker is alive and well in the gaming capital of the world by setting a new US Poker Open record with 95 participants competing in hopes of winning the festival’s first title.

Tim mcdermott was right behind this trio but quickly ran out of chips and was knocked out by Spain Sergi Reixach in seventh place for $ 47,500.
Reixach entered the final table with the smaller stack and eliminating McDermott didn’t increase his stack much. The Spaniard was the next player to move to sixth for $ 57,000 as his nine-five suited up against Hutter’s seven.
Hutter then went back to eliminating a short-stacked Zolotow in fifth place for $ 76,000 when his suited nine-seven came against his opponent’s big slick.
Stephen chidwick won the first US Poker Open in 2018, but couldn’t repeat that performance last night. Instead, he hit the rail in fourth place for $ 95,000 after his treys were topped by Daniels’ five.
Hutter was then only 13 big blinds after a long three-way battle. He did so with king-seven for mid pair on a flop seventeen-six against the five-four held by Shak with five-four. A three took the river up and Hutter was ousted in third place for $ 114,000.

Shak started the heads-up with a 3: 2 chip advantage over Daniels. Daniels quickly doubled up on a cooler hand where both players held a straight to gain the advantage. Shak then failed to win the title and instead claimed the second prize of $ 152,000 after his King-Seven failed to improve against Daniels’ as-trey.
Kudos to Jake Daniels on an incredible start to the 2021 US Poker Open with a win in the opening event for $ 218,500.
