Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 launched in India at Rs. 2.43 crore

Mercedes-Benz India today announced the domestic market launch of the Maybach GLS 600 4Matic. The first SUV introduced under the Maybach brand is introduced to the country via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route and is one of a host of new launches for this year. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 has been available in international markets since 2019.
Sitting atop the German luxury automaker’s SUV lineup, the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is priced at Rs. 2.43 crore (ex-showroom, pan India) as it is priced significantly higher than the standard GLS. It locks the horn with Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, Maserati Levante and Range Rover Autobiography in the Indian market.
To give it an exclusive look, the Stuttgart-based automaker fitted the GLS 600 with a unique Maybach-specific chrome grille with vertical slats, heavy chrome fixture on the bumper, large 23 multi-spoke wheels. inch, front and rear pads, two-tone exterior theme, Maybach logo on the D-pillar, chrome accents on the sides and rear and prominent wheel arches.
Elsewhere, you could see chrome inserts on the pillars, a chrome window line, gray roof rails, horizontal LED taillights, twin chrome exhaust pipes, a tailgate mounted spoiler, etc. The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 can be fitted with a four-cab or five-seater and the wheelbase length is 3,135 mm. Rear occupants have 1,103mm of legroom.
The four-seater has a fixed center console as well as a refrigerator for storing champagne and silver champagne flutes, rear seats with reclining function, Nappa leather seats, a panoramic sunroof with opaque roller shutters, ventilated massage seats, two 12.3-inch screens (one for touchscreen infotainment and the other for instrumentation) and so on.
When it comes to performance, the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4Matic comes with a 4.0-liter V8 engine, which is good enough to produce a maximum power of 542 hp and 730 Nm of maximum torque. The powertrain works in tandem with a 48V EQ Boost system, helping to deliver an additional 21 hp and 250 Nm. The engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels.
