Surrey’s tallest residential tower due for completion in spring 2023
Aoyuan Canada recently marked a milestone in the construction of One Central, Surrey’s tallest residential tower, by celebrating the crowning achievement with partners and community members.
This milestone marks the end of the training stage and brings it one step closer to occupation. “We are on track to soon welcome the first residents of Aoyuan to British Columbia and One Central Tower will be our first completed development in Canada,” said Fan Yang, Managing Director of Aoyuan Canada.
The tower, designed by Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc., is 44 stories high and is located in Central Surrey, within walking distance of the SkyTrain and SFU Surrey Campus, North Surrey Leisure Center and countless amenities. It is also located just five minutes from the future UBC Surrey campus.
“One Central is a major mixed-use tower in the heart of the West Village with streets of commercial retail units and townhouse units,” said Richard Bernstein, principal architect and designer at Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc. “Aoyuan has provided its buyers with a wide variety of unit types and sizes, from studios to townhouse units and everything in between, and has achieved a strong contextual fit for this project in this emerging neighborhood.
One Central will offer more than 20,000 square feet of resident amenities spread over five floors, including well-equipped fitness centers and a rooftop terrace with barbecue grills. The rooftop facility will span over 8,000 square feet with an indoor/outdoor lounge and Sky Fitness center. Residents will be able to rest and rejuvenate amid panoramic rooftop views.
Aoyuan creates living spaces focused on a healthy lifestyle. On the 34th floor, residents will have access to a coworking space, with private meeting rooms and individual work modules; allowing them to work from home without sacrificing their living space.
Construction of the tower is being managed by Urban One Builders and they shared that One Central should be an iconic building in the heart of Surrey. “Not only is it the tallest residential tower in the city, but it truly offers incredible amenities throughout,” said Allan Beron, President of URBAN ONE.
Cristina Oberti Interior Design’s interiors will be based on form and function, designed for ultimate use, with smart and contemporary design. Select units will include a sliding partition, allowing residents to easily transition from their day-to-night home for maximum functionality.
Other high-end features include custom roller blinds in all homes and a European appliance package including Fulgor gas cooktop, built-in oven, dishwasher and refrigerator, plus washer/dryer. stacked Blomberg dryer.
“One Central wouldn’t be possible without our collaboration with a fantastic group of partners,” Yang said. “Quality of service, commitment to all areas of work and unwavering professionalism help us deliver quality, as well as smooth and rapid progress throughout the project, even in the uncertainty of COVID.”
“The Aoyuan team has shown great dedication to the project. They are knowledgeable and committed to delivering a high quality product and supporting the communities in which they operate,” Berron said.
